A new era begins

As we move into 2024 we would like to welcome you to Woodland Caravan Park.

As the new business owners and managers of the park we are really looking forward to the coming year and welcoming both returning and new customers to stay with us.

Over the last two years we have had a seasonal pitch at the park and are so excited that we now have the opportunity to take over the running of the business.  During the past year we have taken lots of time to thoroughly get to know the park and we are committed to continuing the legacy of the business and guarantee that we will carry on providing the highest quality of services to ensure that everyone who stays with us has the most amazing experience.

We would like to wish Mark & Janice a happy retirement and sincerely thank them for all of their support during the past year and the transition of the business.

We look forward to meeting you in 2024

Dave & Ruth Ward.

About the Park

Our park is set in 10 acres of natural woodland within the grounds of the Snelston Hall estate. We offer an adult only (minimum age of 18yrs) peaceful haven for those discerning customers who wish to experience a quiet & relaxing holiday.

Please be aware, as our name suggests, this is a woodland setting and all the pitches are set between the trees, therefore your pitch may not be showered in sunshine all day.

Our park is situated just 2 miles south of the charming market town of Ashbourne and within easy reach of many cultural and outdoor activities. Our location makes an ideal base for walkers & cyclists, being a convenient distance from the beautiful Peak District.

Please be aware that our park is opposite a motorcycle race track and depending on the direction of the wind can be a little noisy.  If you would like to check the race dates before you book here is a link to their website. WE HAVE NO CONTROL OF THEIR DIARY & THE WEBSITE CONTENTS.

With 50 well placed hard standing pitches set amongst the trees. The park is ideal for touring caravans, motorhomes & trailer tents/folding campers. Sorry but we cannot accept tents.

Nestled amongst Nature

With all of our pitches being cut into the natural tree line, staying at Woodland Caravan Park gives you the chance to connect with nature and enjoy the tranquillity that only such a unique setting  can offer.

We have so many different species of wildlife that regularly visit the park including squirrels, mice, pheasants, and a very wide range of birds.  It’s a joy to be able to sit and watch them at their antics throughout the day.  Throughout the year the trees and plants of the woodland also provide their own show of beauty as they change with the seasons.

Book a pitch with us if you are looking for a park with a difference.

For those who like to explore

Our park sits at the southern end of the Peak District and is situated just two miles from the historic market town of Ashbourne which is known as “The Gateway to the Peak District”

We are a perfect base to explore the beautiful towns and the countryside of the Peak District.  From Buxton to Bakewell, Monyash and beyond there is something for everyone.

The area has also a number of well known stately homes including Chatsworth House.  Many have dog friendly gardens and grounds and they are well worth a visit.  Our well stocked information point has everything you need to know to plan your perfect day out.

There are lots of safe, traffic free walking and cycling trails on former railway lines which are ideal for being able to get outdoors and experience the beauty of the area.  The Tissington Trail is very close to the caravan park and the Monsal Trail is also easily accessible.

For those that love walking there are lots of walks that start from the caravan park and explore the beautiful countryside around the park following quiet country lanes and footpaths.

We have walking routes plotted on OS maps available to borrow along with lots of information about the many cycling trails around the area.

Just ask at reception for any information and we will be happy to help you plan your outing.  Pack a picnic and head out for the day and you won’t be disappointed.
